  • 70% of students report bullying online. 
  • More than 80% of teens use a cell phone regularly, making it the most common medium for cyber bullying.
  • 68% of teens agree that cyber bullying is a serious problem.
  • 81% of young people think bullying online is easier to get away with than bullying in person.
  • 90% of teens that have social-media bullying say they have ignored it. 84% have seen others tell cyber bullies to stop.
  • Only 1 in 10 victims will tell a parent or trusted adult.
  • About 58% of kids admit someone has said something mean to them online.

    Watch Out! Social Media Up Ahead!

    Ahh, Social Media. What would we do without it? I mean, you have Twitter, Facebook, Vine, Instagram, Snapchat and so much more! I can't imagine life without it. But anyways, hey guys, Hollis here, and today (if you haven't noticed) I'm going to be talking about Social Media! So, what is the basis of Social Media? After all, Social Media does have a lot of different meanings to it. Well, I'll tell you. Social Media is when:
    • People can post pictures and videos on there profiles.
    • Can chat with people there friends with.
    • Can video chat and other things of that nature.
    So, Social Media dosen't sound so bad, right? Well, there's also some bad things about it as well. For example:
    • Cyberbullying happens everywhere, all the time!
    • People could post ugly comments on your pictures and videos.
    • people could also post inappropiate pictures and videos as well.

    • Well, being safe on the internet (after all, it says so in the title.)
    • Treating others like you would want to be treated.
    • Being careful about things you do on the internet.
